Campaigns

In 2008, despite widespread engineering works taking place rebuiling large sections of the railway network, with major works both on the West Coast Main Line at Weekends in the Spring and rebuilding Derby station a year long project, we have still aimed to provide an interesting day out from smaller local station.

Canterbury is an exciting destination this year and will be our first tour to the historic city after a gap of 7 years.

With work at Edinburgh station completed, we use the opportunity to travel over both the Forth and Tay bridges to Dundee.

Our Next Steam Tours

Steam along the West Highland Line

Steam hauled from Fort William to Mallaig and return. (Day 2 of three day West Highland Weekend.)

'Steaming into historic York'

Our train picks up at local stations in rural Lincolnshire and is diesel hauled to Doncaster, from where Stanier 8F steam locomotive 48151 takes over for the 90 minute journey to York. The train tavels via Sherburn in Elmet and Church Fenton with a photo stop requested en route. We enjoy a break of around 4 hours before returning steam hauled to Doncaster and return diesel hauled to our home stations. Thus offering a family day out, with a steam ride to an interesting destination from your local station.
